I have always enjoyed Mathematics for many reasons. After years of studying it and teaching it, I understand that it is parallel to my personal characteristics in many ways. I love the challenge of a problem. There are numerous areas in my life that I see this come through. Whether I am working with a particularly confused student, being a handyman and fixing something broken, or working through my own studies at the University of Florida, I enjoy looking for a complete answer. In addition to appreciating the succinct solutions that Mathematics can offer, I am also open minded enough to accept new ideas and allow my calculative mind to learn something completely new. I have exercised my range of skill by excelling in subjects like Finite Mathematics, as well as Business. I transfer these strengths and desires to my students, who have described me as even-keeled, empathetic, and patient as their teacher of these commonly complicated subjects. After five years' experience tutoring, I'm aware that my favorite subject of Math doesn't qualify as everyone's favorite. However, I have been successful in transforming my students' negative feelings about Math to positive ones. Outside of education, I love being outside gardening and camping.
